Two locations. Unlimited Collaboration 〰️

Mahitahi Colab is more than a workspace — it’s a community. Across Nelson and Māpua, our spaces bring together people, ideas and opportunities every day.

As a not-for-profit partnership between the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, NRDA and NMIT, we provide unique opportunities for connections, networking and greater collaboration across regional business and innovation.

A Unique Partnership between

About Mahitahi

A defining feature of Mahitahi is its strong regional partnership model. Through collaboration with Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT), Nelson Regional Development Agency (NRDA), and Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce (Chamber), members are connected directly into the wider business ecosystem. These partnerships provide pathways into training, events, business support, networking and growth initiatives — giving Tasman businesses access to opportunities that extend well beyond the walls of the hub.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Mahitahi reinvests all revenue back into the space, events, learning opportunities and innovation initiatives. This ensures the focus remains on strengthening regional capability and community outcomes, rather than generating private profit.

Sustainability

We believe in doing our part and leading by example. That's why Mahitahi Colab has committed to several actions to reduce our impact on the environment.

As coworking spaces, we host a diverse community of businesses and talented people who are connected under one roof (well two roofs!)

We’re committed to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy and help all our collaborators take action, no matter where they’re at on their journey.

We are always open to feedback and new ideas. Please send your sustainability suggestions to hello@mahitahicolab.nz.

  • Conscious Commuting

Collaborators are encouraged to cycle, use public transport, and carpool. We have ample bike parking and shower facilities. Flexible joint plans between Nelson & Māpua mean you can drop the commute and save.

  • New ideas

Due to the diversity of the businesses in the Colab, we have the opportunity to bounce ideas off one another. We embrace each other to drive innovation and collaboration.

  • Mindful of food waste

Thanks to the Community Composting service, all our food scraps in Nelson are composted locally and kept out of landfill.

  • Close eye on emissions

We’re measuring our greenhouse gas emissions and aim to set a target to reduce these.

  • Support local

We use local suppliers and support our regions businesses for products and services where possible.

  • Reduce, reuse, recycle

We encourage reuse where possible, providing reusable cups and containers, recycling soft plastics through the Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme.
